Gujarat State Bharat Scouts and Guides is a voluntary non-political educational movement for young people open to all without distinction of race or creed in accordance with the purpose, principles and method conceived by the founder Lord Baden Powell in 1907.
The purpose of the movement is to contribute to development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials and make them as responsible citizens and members of the local State National and International communities.
The Scout / Guide Movement is based on the following principles :
Duty to God :
Adherence to spiritual principles, loyalty to the religion that expresses them and acceptance of the duties resulting there from.
( Note : the work "DHARMA" May be substituted for the word "GOD" if so desired:)
- Loyalty to one's country in harmony with the promotion of local, state, national and international peace, understanding cooperation.
- Participation in the development of society with recognition respect for the dignity of one's fellowmen and for the integrity of the natural word.
Duty to Self :
Responsibility for the development of one self.
30 District Associations are registered under the Gujarat State Bharat Scouts and Guides Association. About 35069 Scouts with Scouter and 22433 Guide with Guider- total 57502 members are registered with Gujarat State Bharat Scouts and Guides Association. The Training Centers are located at Ahmedabad, Boriavi Dist, Ananad and Navsari.
The Registered Office of the Association is at Barrack No.3, Government Polytechnic Campus, Ambawadi, Ahmedabad - 380015. or at such other place or places as may be decided from time to time by the State Council.
To Develop the charter of children and to promote the activity handicraft, Social Service, to encourage the selfless service towards the humanity and nation. To educate them to have faith on God and respect all religion- this is the overall guiding principal and goal towards which the organisation is working.
