1. FLAG HOISITING ON THE INDEPENDENCE DAY:-
The Governor traditionally unfurls the national flag at the Raj Bhavan on the Independence Day. Hon. Speaker, local M.P. / M.L.A., senior officials from the civil administration as well as the Army / Air Force / BSF, prominent citizens and a few students from the prominent schools of the Gandhinagar town attend the function alongwith Raj Bhavan officials and their family members. The Governor also plants saplings in the Raj Bhavan complex on the occasion.
2. FLAG HOISITING ON THE REPUBLIC DAY:-
The Governor unfurls the national flag on the Republic Day either at the State Headquarter or at any other district Headquarter as decided by the State government in the presence of the Chief Minister and his colleagues, senior officials of the State and district administration, officials of the Air-Force / BSF etc. H.E. takes the salute of the combined parade of the police, Home guards, N.C.C. etc. H.E. graces the State- sponsered programme on the occasion, watches the tableaus of different line departments / boards/ corporations on various developmental themes and also attends a brief cultural programme. H.E. also felicitates a few prominent freedom-fighters and other distinguished persons on the occasion.
